等位構造は, 様々な特徴的な現象を持つ構造であることを本ブログでは何度も言及している. 今回はその中から Ke et al. (2025) が提案する「Ramification Effects」をまとめてみたい.

本文からまず内容を引用する.

Interestingly, our data also reveal a previously unnoted pattern, to our knowledge,in Q-binding and logophoric binding, which we call ramification effects: the first conjunct (and only the first conjunct) can bind the ith (i > 2) conjunct only if it also binds the (i-1)th conjunct.

言い換えるならば, 束縛は から連続的に後続要素へ拡がらなければならず, 途中の接続詞を飛び越すことはできないということになる.

これに対して論文中では, Form Sequence などの線形的な順序の重要性も再考しており, また新たな研究の必要が生じるところである.
