普遍文法 + パラメーター値のセット
以前の投稿でたびたびチョムスキーによる生成文法の用語をまとめてきたが, 今回はあえてチョムスキー以外の言語学者が「言語」, とりわけ「文法」についてどのように定義しているかを確認したい.
The grammar of a language consists of a lexicon and a computational component specifying some choice points, or parameters; the computational component is universal, except for the fixation of the parameters; the computational component of a particular grammar, then, is UG plus a set of parametric values.
Rizzi (2003)
今回はRizziの言葉を引用したが, 言語の文法は, 語彙目録(レキシコン)と, いくつかの選択肢(パラメーター)を規定する計算体系から構成される, という風にまとめられている. これも基本的にはChomskyのP&P(Principles and Parameters)の発想と同様であるが, 改めて他の研究者の言葉で確認することで, 新たな気づきが得られるかもしれない.
