再分析と遺伝的な突然変異
言語は変化する. 例えば日本語を見ても, 平安時代の人々が話していた言葉と今の我々が話す言葉は, 同じ日本語でも異なる語彙や文法的な特徴を持つ.
これらの言語変化には様々な要因が影響していると思われるが, ここでは語彙的な要素を中心に, それが「再分析」の結果であるとして, 生物における比喩で表現された一節を見てみたい.
As shown in the diagram, the development of language in an individual implies the learning (the internalization) of the “lexical” material necessary for communication, and it is exactly during this process that reanalyses can occur. A reanalysis is a mismatch in the grammar of two speakers between an internal representation and the linguistic expression produced by the SM system. It can be seen as the equivalent of genetic mutations in organisms.

Mendívil-Giró (2018) はここで非常に興味深い表現をしている.
まず, 再分析を綺麗にまとめ, 内的表象と感覚運動系が産出する言語表現の対応関係をもとに, 2人の話者の間で生じる不一致とまとめている.
このようなまとめ方は他の論文でも見るかもしれないが, ここでさらに興味深いのが, それを生物における遺伝的な突然変異と表現している点である. 突然変異とは, 進化学的な発想の色合いが強い比喩であるが, このように別の学問的な見方をすることで, 新たな発見が生まれるかもしれない.
他方で, 別の学問的な比喩を使う場合, その正確性が往々にして無意識のうちにずれてしまうことがあるので, その点は注意する必要があるだろう.
